The department of "Philology and Communication" was founded in 2014 and is a graduate in the areas of "Philological education" and "Journalism". Since the opening, a distinctive feature of the department's activities has been specialization in vocational training and training of first-class personnel, which includes both general theoretical disciplines defined by the state standard, and modern technologies of professional journalistic and philological activities, special courses and electives.
The department trains specialists in the following specialties:
- "English teacher",
- "German language teacher",
- "Teacher of the Turkish language",
- "International Journalism",
- "Tele-radio journalism",
- "Internet journalism",
- "Periodic press".
The teachers of the department are active practitioners who combine teaching and research activities with work. The department includes 22 teachers, including 2 doctors of sciences, 4 candidates of sciences, 8 senior teachers and 8 teachers.
The teaching staff of the department consists of highly qualified teachers who periodically improve their professional level at advanced training courses and internships in the country and abroad (Republic of Kazakhstan, Russian Federation, Turkey, Germany).
Currently, more than 200 students are studying in the directions of the department. Within the framework of the department, students undergo educational, familiarization and industrial practice in various television and radio companies, newspapers and magazines, and online publications. Teaching is conducted using the latest educational technologies, including computers, video equipment, multimedia teaching aids.
Upon completion of the training, graduates are employed in their specialty in the editorial offices of newspapers and magazines, television and radio companies, news agencies, as well as in government and corporate press services, advertising and public relations agencies, in government bodies of various levels. They conduct scientific work and teach in school, preschool institutions, and universities.

Mission of the direction "Journalism":
- Preparation of a real professional who will have a flexible and sharp mind, able to grasp the essence, analyze and choose the main thing from the mass of information.
The term of study is 4 years on a contract basis.
