About the department
The Department of Software Engineering was created in 2016, during the formation of the IUKR western campus. The activities of the department are aimed at training highly qualified developers and specialists. The need for such specialists is dictated by the constantly growing needs of the information and communication industry: the opening of IT technology parks,the rapid development of the offshore and custom programming market, the informatization of government agencies, and the needs of private business. The software industry is a rapidly developing area of ​​the modern Kyrgyz and world economy, and software is the most important component of information systems.The program of study in the direction of "Software Engineering" fully complies with international recommendations for teaching software engineering in higher educational institutions and covers all aspects of software production: mathematical, methodological, economic, legal, marketing, management base,the best world knowledge and practice of software production.

The staff of the department consists of experienced teachers with academic degrees and titles, who are actively involved in scientific work. The teachers of the department have experience in creating computer information systems in various fields of human activity. This contributes to the factthat practical work takes up a large part of the entire educational program. Students make full use of all the resources of the university's research potential. An important feature of the learning process is the acquisition of skills and abilities of teamwork in typical software development conditions,participation in real team projects during internships and internships in companies specializing in the development, consulting and management of software projects.

Graduates of the department receive in-depth professional training in the field of:

  • informatics and computer technology;programming and development of computer information systems;
  • creation and application of information systems in business management;
  • configuring computer networks and creating office systems;
  • administration of local area networks;
  • development of expert and intelligent systems.

The educational program of the Department of Software Engineering prepares leading technical specialists, qualified developers and architects of software, quality managers of software and processes of its development, who have comprehensive knowledge in the field of software engineering, information andcommunication technologies (ICT), as well as economics, management and law, possessing the theoretical foundations and practical skills of developing competitive software systems, managing software projects in various areas of the industry.

Objectives of the Department of Software Engineering:

-Graduates gaining general scientific and special engineering knowledge, gaining practical experience and universal competencies that allow them to successfully improve in the professional field;
- Opportunity for graduates to work in priority areas of software engineering development,showing high professionalism in solving complex engineering problems in the design, development and use of software products;
