The main missions of the international department are:
- enhancing and strengthening the reputation of the University in the international arena.
- to implement the main strategic objectives of the University aimed at achieving an international level of competitiveness of the results of educational and research activities,
- increasing the number and increasing the effectiveness of concluded international treaties and agreements.
- preparation of draft cooperation agreements, protocols of intent, contracts with foreign educational institutions, organizations and firms,
- implementation of exchange programs for students, staff and teachers of the university with foreign universities,
- information and analytical activities - search, analysis and provision of information to students, teachers and staff about grants, competitive programs and other opportunities to gain learning experience, research activities abroad,
- organization and holding of international events: conferences, seminars, festivals, lectures, international summer schools.
- organizing the reception of foreign partners (experts, specialists, teaching staff), organizing a cultural program, excursions,
- coordinating the activities of working groups to prepare applications for participation in joint international projects, providing technical support and consulting during the preparation of applications

Currently, the International University of Kyrgyzstan offers the following types of programs to students:
The "Double diplomas" program: involves studying at a foreign partner educational institution with obtaining a diploma of study according to the educational program of this educational institution.
Language Internships: Language internships are an intensive foreign language course abroad. Duration – 2-4 weeks
